STORIES & AFFIRMATIONS

Ever since 2010, RRIPG has had many summer interns ranging from high school students, undergraduates, to MD, DO, and DPT candidates. In addition, we have been fortunate enough to have a variety of professionals in the sports medicine field collaborate with us. Here are some stories & affirmations about their experience interning and collaborating with Dr. Victor Lopez Jr. and RRIPG.

Tiffany Smith, MD (2023)

Tiffany Smith has been interning with RRIPG since the summer of 2020. She is a 3rd-year medical student at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Sasha Smalls, BS (2025)

Sasha Smalls has been interning with RRIPG since the December of 2020. She is a rising freshman at Cornell University obtaining a B.S. in Biology.

Lilianna Tasovac, BS (2023)

Lilianna Tasovac has been interning with RRIPG since 2018. She is a rising junior at Binghamton University studying to get her B.S. in Biology on a pre-health track.

Jasmin Strong, MS (2022)

Jasmin Strong has been interning with RRIPG since the summer of 2021. She is currently a graduate student at the University of Southern California, obtaining her M.S. in Biokinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Science.

Ericjon Sero, BA (2019)

Ericjon Sero has been interning with RRIPG since the summer of 2021. He graduated from Stony Brook University in 2019 with a B.A. in Biology and a minor in Sociology.

Erica Marcano, MS, ATC, CSCS

Erica Marcano has been a consultant with RRIPG and Dr. Lopez since 2012. She currently works independently, and her DBA is The Notorious ATC.

Chizitam Ibezim, MD

Chizitam Ibezim interned with RRIPG at the 2019 USA Rugby National Club 7s Championships in Kansas City. Here are his words thanking Dr. Lopez for that experience and how it has benefited him as a medical student.

Tony Locrotondo, DO

Tony Locrotondo has interned with RRIPG off and on for years, and was the Rugby 7s Research Coordinator in 2014. He currently is a 3rd-year Emergency Medicine Resident at Augusta University Medical Center.

Khalil JA Webb, BA (2019)

Khalil Webb has been interning with RRIPG for about five years now. He obtained his BA in Law and Political Science from the University of Arizona in 2019.

Daniel Wood, MSc, SENr

Daniel Wood has been interning with RRIPG since 2017. He is currently a Performance Nutritionist at Durham University in the UK.

Som Singh, MD (2023)

Som Singh has been interning with RRIPG since August 2019, and our 2020 Lead National Study Coordinator. He is a 4th-year medical school student at the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine in their combined BA/MD program.

Orin Pramanik, MD (2021)

Orin Pranmanik has been interning with RRIPG since the summer of 2019. She is a 4th-year medical student obtaining her MD at the American University of Antigua.

Kiera Borthwick, BS (2021)

Kiera Borthwick has been interning with RRIPG since the summer of 2020. She is a rising senior at Washington and Lee University studying Neuroscience.

Osaiyekemwen (Ruth) Ogbemudia, High School Diploma (2021)

Osaiyekemwen (Ruth) Ogbemudia has been interning with RRIPG since June 2019. She is currently a rising senior at Valley Stream North High School obtaining her high school diploma in the Advanced Science Program.
