Dr. Victor Lopez Jr, and Dr. Richard Ma, board members of the Rugby Research and Injury Prevention Group, affiliated with Hospital for Special Surgery, Research Associates with Auckland University of Technology Sports Performance Research Institute New Zealand, and members of the Rugby Codes Research Group, have the honor to be invited to present for the second-year, at the 37th International Society Conference on Biomechanics in Sports 2019, at Miami University, Oxford Ohio, on the USA North American Rugby-7s RISERugby injury surveillance project and its injury preventive-potential data with topics relevant to the growth of rugby in the Americas, which may have implications globally.

They will be presenting on the non-contact aspects of U.S. Rugby-7s players, which is a critical aspect in advancing our endeavors in understanding and helping our U.S. cohort of developing rugby players.

The International Conference on Biomechanics in Sport is the annual event for the presentation of academic research in Sport Biomechanics. It is aimed to host the conference in a rotation principle between Australasia, North and South America, and Europe and Africa.

The International Society of Biomechanics in Sports is composed of members from all over the world with a common desire to study and understand human movement, especially as it relates to applied sports biomechanics. Participants come from a wide range of backgrounds including exercise science, education, engineering, computer science, rehabilitation and medicine to name a few. Over the years, members, presenters, exhibitors and invited participants at ISBS gatherings have included persons from Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Congo, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Portugal, Russia, Scotland, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, United States and Venezuela.

Miami University (Ohio) will be hosting the 37th International Conference on Biomechanics in Sports from July 21-25, 2019. The conference is located at the Armstrong Center at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. The purpose of the conference is to facilitate knowledge exchange in sports biomechanics. The multi-disciplinary conference provides opportunities for delegates to experience state-of-the-art educational and applied programs, as well as Miami’s beautiful campus. Have fun, discuss developments and talk about novel opportunities with other delegates at multiple social events including a scenic riverboat cruise on the magnificent Ohio River.
