DR. LOPEZ'S RRIPG WORKS WITH UMKC SCHOOL OF MEDICINE AT THE 2019 USA RUGBY CLUB 7S NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
August 10th, 2019
The USA Rugby Emirates Airline Club 7s National Championship is the premier domestic sevens tournament, and has been the launching point for many Eagles and Olympians to get on the national radar. The Championship featured 32 of the best men’s and women’s sevens teams from across the country. In 2019, the event was hosted at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City.
Dr. Victor Lopez Jr. and his team from the Rugby Research and Injury Prevention Group (RRIPG) were given the privileged opportunity to attend and aid at the event. They would like to personally thank Dr. Kent Doan from Denver Orthopedics, and Dr. Sean Bonnani from University of Missouri-Kansas City Orthopedics for organizing their team. Everything couldn’t have been possible without these great five medical staff: Dr. Paul Cowan from KC Orthopedics, Dr. Daniel Chernoff, Dr. Alex Metoxen, Dr. Chizitan Ibezim, and Dr. Som Singh. Not to forget Abby Hogan, Jesus Morales, Alex Garcia, Meagan Batusic, and Christopher Burch as ATCs. RRIPG appreciated everyone’s help.
